Conceal with a Smile

1In life, there are principles that you have to live with in order for you to achieve whatever it is that you want. There are strategies that you learn on your journey and lessons you learn from your mistakes. When you read Bishop Jordan’s “Spiritual Art of War” you will learn the many strategies and principles that will help you on your way to achieving success no matter what you endeavor it.

One principle is to conceal your purpose behind a smile. The strategy: Attend to your plans while in your adversary’s confidence. Why: in the confidence of your adversary, you may reach your objective unopposed. Sun Tzu writes, “All warfare is based on deception”. He elaborates, “Hence, when able to attack, seem as if unable to attack; when using forces actively, seem inactive”.

Put on a smile at all times, and you’ll confuse your adversary. In a business context, act confident, bold, and happy even if you seem to have no reason to do so—it will either make your adversaries believe you have everything under control, or it will cause them to worry about your next move. A smile is the best possible face you can put forth to the world; it conceals everything. As Jesus says in Matthew 5:44, “‘But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” This is the essence of this principle.
